FAQs

Will this tent fit my vehicle?
Roof top tents are not vehicle-specific. Confirm your vehicle has a stable roof rack that can support the weight of the tent plus the people inside, and refer to your vehicle manual. Heavy-duty crossbars (left to right) are recommended. Crossbars should be 3.25” wide or less to use the provided brackets; wider crossbars require brackets from another source or custom fabrication.

Can I run my vehicle and tent through a car wash?
Not unless you’re filming something for Instagram and don’t care if your tent gets ripped from the vehicle like a category 5 hurricane.

What is the tent made from?
Manufactured from high-quality polyester/cotton windproof fabric.

I woke up and everything was wet inside, I thought this tent was waterproof.
It is waterproof, but in colder weather condensation can build up inside due to a temperature gradient. An anti-condensation mat can reduce the temperature gradient at the floor and allow moisture to escape, improve airflow, and add a small amount of padding. Keeping vents open is also recommended.

Can I wash the cover for the mattress?
Yes. The cover can be removed and washed.

Not unlike, “The Princess and the Pea” I too require an extremely soft mattress. Why don’t you sell memory foam mattresses with your tents?
Memory foam can “freeze” in cold weather and can hold moisture and mold. Condensation can already be an issue, and adding memory foam is not recommended in the provided guidance.

Can I utilize the RTT access door from any side of the vehicle?
Yes. The tent can fold open from the right or left side of the vehicle or trailer.

Do you include all of the hardware for installation?
Yes. Hardware and wrenches are included, but you need to have roof top racks ready for installation. Check the weight capacity of your racks and vehicle.

How many people can this roof top tent sleep?
Comfortably 4–5 adults. The included annex room can also be used.

Is this tent easy to open and close?
Compared to an Alpha, Alpha II or Stealth, no. Compared to other soft shell tents, yes. After practice, assembly takes approximately 10–15 minutes, with much of the time spent setting up window rods for window overhang.

Does this tent hold up in wind and rain?
The tent is waterproof and includes a rain fly. When secured correctly, it is stated to hold up to high winds.

Do I need to clean the tent every time I stop and camp?
No. The driving cover protects the tent during travel, though airing it out and brushing off the mattress protector once you arrive is suggested.

Do I need to clean the inside of the tent after camping?
Yes—clean it and air it out (as stated in the provided guidance).

Do I need to air out the tent after camping?
Yes. Air out the tent after each trip to help prevent mold buildup (as stated in the provided guidance).

Delivery

Rooftop Tents ship separately via LTL truck freight (separate from other items in your cart). Please allow 2–3 business days for your tent to be palletized and picked up; you’ll receive tracking once it’s collected from the warehouse.

Freight transit is typically 7–10 business days from our warehouse to the Destination Terminal. Final delivery is by appointment—please provide the best phone number on your order to avoid missed calls and delays. Delivery days vary by distance, and in rural/remote areas the carrier may service your area only once per week. Do not miss your scheduled delivery—rescheduling fees charged to us will be passed on to you.

Residential deliveries are curbside only (sidewalk, driveway, or garage). A valid reachable phone number is required; if we can’t contact you, your tent will not ship until we do. If you can’t arrange availability or don’t respond to the carrier, the tent may be returned to our warehouse and return freight charges will be applied to your credit card.

Receiving & Inspection

You have 15 minutes to inspect your shipment before signing. Take photos of the shipment before you sign and accept delivery. If your tent is not received strapped on a pallet, refuse the shipment and call 866-220-0171 immediately—we will process a replacement shipment at once. If there are holes in the box, inspect through the opening; if there is visible damage to the tent, refuse the shipment and call 866-220-0171 immediately—we will process a replacement shipment at once. Note any box damage (crushed corners, scuffs, tears) on the BOL before signing.

Please open and inspect the tent as soon as possible. If any damage is found after opening, stop and take photos of the packaging, tent, and anything that provides context. Concealed damage and missing parts must be reported within 72 hours of delivery; after 72 hours we can’t file a carrier claim and repair/replacement options will be limited.
