About
The 23Zero Walkabout 87 2.0 is a four-season soft-shell rooftop tent designed to sleep up to six adults. It features dual entrances and two ladders for convenient access, along with a massive sleeping area suited to large groups. Built on more than six years of real-world refinement across multiple countries, the 2.0 version introduces structural upgrades, improved climate control, and enhanced usability across all seasons.
The tent uses 23Zero's ECO13B fully recycled fabric with LST (Light Suppression Technology) coating, which reduces incoming light and supports interior temperature regulation through crossflow ventilation. All seams are fully tape-sealed and combined with the ECO13B fabric to provide resistance to rain and storms. A quick-removal 600D PVC transit cover protects the tent when not in use, designed to perform from freezing conditions to extreme heat.
The frame is polyester-wrapped with a stainless steel hinge on all moving metal parts and a lever-lock extension pole. A new integrated LED light strip provides interior lighting. A rear-mounted heater and cooler port accepts ducting up to three inches in diameter for diesel heaters or cooling systems.
Features
The ECO13B fabric with LST reduces incoming light and, combined with large screened windows including oversized roof windows, allows crossflow ventilation for interior temperature regulation. All seams are fully tape-sealed to prevent leaks in rain and storms. The PVC-backed center flap is extra-wide and reinforced to reduce gaps and enhance protection in severe weather.
Critical stress points are reinforced with bar-tack stitching throughout the tent. The heavy-duty polyester-wrapped frame includes a stainless steel hinge on all moving metal parts and a lever-lock extension pole for stable support. Ultrafine high-density insect mesh screens on windows and doors keep out even small insects.
Sky windows in the roof are extra-large, screened, and solid, accessible when the fly is removed for stargazing. Two screened entry doors each have a dedicated ladder for improved accessibility for large groups. The tent is compatible with most crossbar-style roof racks with appropriate weight capacity.
